Toyota announces the plural of Prius

Ten-year debate, laid to rest with the term "prii»

Torrance, Calif., February 20, 2011 – Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc. today announced that the public has chosen "prii" as the preferred term in the plural to the Prius.

Prius goes multiple vote campaign was launched on 10 January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and challenged public help define plural nomenclature Prius automaker. After more than 1.8 million votes were cast during the six-week campaign, Prii beat of its four competitors: Prius, Priuses, Prium and principles.
